Now how did they ever come
up with that name? That is a great question KEN NELSON comes from a singing family. He started singing with his brothers in a quartet at churches in Utah. Sometimes performing on a local radio show, he moved on to sing in his high school chorus. Ken is always in demand in his hometown of Southlake, Texas. If Ken is not singing in church, then he is singing for friends at parties, or for different social events all around the area. Ken has an incredible ability to reach out and grab the heart of any audience. His stage presence and charisma are unparalleled at any level. Ken never meets a stranger. He is comfortable in front of crowds of thousands or on his knees in prayer one on one. Singing in a quartet like his father has always been a dream and desire, and now ROF has given Ken that opportunity. ROF has given Ken a chance to express his faith and belief in God through music. KEVIN HEIN has always had a love for music. He started singing in church choir in grade school with his mom and dad. Growing up in Austin, Texas, Kevin sang in his high school choir and went on to sing in the Texas Tech University Choir. Kevin plays the keyboard in the church praise band and is also a very accomplished guitar player. It wasn't until he started singing with ROF that Kevin discovered his "SECRET ABILITY". He sings Soprano. He quickly found out singing first tenor was his true gift and calling. Kevin has the awesome ability to sing down heaven itself and bring you into it's presence. Singing with ROF has not only stretched Kevin's vocal range, but it has really given him the opportunity to share his faith. Even though Kevin is the quiet one of the group, give him a microphone and let him talk about his faith and ROF and look out. You will have to offer an invitation when he's done. FOREST PARKER began singing in his church youth choir. He has sung and played bass guitar in country and show bands for over 15 years. Although Forest sang back up with the country and show bands for years, he never had an opportunity to solo until he started singing for Jesus. He has now been given the name "Ballad Boy". When you hear Forest paint a picture in song, you will understand how the name came to be. Forest has the uncanny ability to paint a picture in song and bring you into the song to live it. He plays bass and sings with the praise team at ROF's home church, WCUMC, and has been designated "RUNT" of the group. Forest is living proof that God has future plans for ROF. Not long after ROF started singing together, Forest decided to try and turn the quartet into a trio. He had a massive heart attack and by-pass surgery. Forest gives testimony that God changed his priorities, FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDS, and through the prayer life and support of his wife and children, his church family and God's Grace he is here today. CURT POOL has been singing in church since he was old enough to stand. He sang his first solo while standing on a chair behind the pulpit. Growing up in and around music, surrendering his life to full time Christian service, and serving as a minister of music for over 25 years, has brought Curt through many joys, triumphs, tears, and trials. Through many life situations, God has developed in Curt a passion for bringing people together to sing and make music. God has given Curt the ability to see into people's hearts, and through music, to inspire, motivate and lead them to the very throne of God. Although Curt brought ROF together to sing for the first time as a group, he is the first to say that God brought them together and simply used him as an instrument.
